So far, there is no certainty as to whether the alpha-level BIOS is handwritten by ASRock or a BIOS version modified by an enthusiast.

AMD reversed its previous plans to limit Zen 3 processors to 500 series motherboards only by extending support to beta 400 series motherboards. 300 series motherboards, however, were left licking their keys.

Now an interesting new BIOS has appeared on the web for ASRock X 370 Taichi and Professional motherboards, which adds at least some support for both the 4000 series of Renoir APUs and 5000 series for Vermeer processors. The BIOS released on the JZElectronic.de discussion forum was reported by Komachi Ensaka, a leak familiar to the general public. The BIOS version number is P6 61, but there is currently no certainty as to whether it is an official ASRock or an enthusiast-modified BIOS. According to reports, some users have managed to add Ryzen 5000 support for X 370 Taichi motherboards by also flashing it with X 470 Taichi motherboard BIOS, so it is possible that the new BIOS would be based at some level on the newer generation BIOS. However, Tom’s Hardware emphasizes that this is an alpha-level BIOS whose functionality cannot be guaranteed by anyone.

The site has already asked both AMD and ASRock for comment. According to AMD, it still has no plans to add Ryzen 5000 support to the 300 series motherboards. ASRock has not yet responded to Tom’s Hardware inquiries. ASRock has become known for its previous raptures, in which it has brought to motherboards features of more expensive chipsets that AMD or Intel have not blessed for that platform. In most cases, this type of feature has been turned off in later BIOS updates, and in this case it is not even certain whether ASRock is behind this capture or not.
