Introduction

As many of you know, most ultrawide monitors come in 34-inch screen sizes and offer a native resolution of 3440×1440. Their panels are usually slightly curved in an attempt to offer a deeper immersion and more natural overall user experience, while also effectively combating the vignetting which can occur in the corners of the panel due to its sheer width. INNOCN’s latest ultrawide offering, the 40C1R, embraces the said 3440×1440 native resolution but breaks the mold in every other way. It comes with a massive 40-inch IPS ADS panel, giving it around 18% more screen real estate than a traditional 34-inch ultrawide. Its panel is, quite surprisingly, completely flat. I’m not going to lie, that detail alone worried me for weeks before the monitor even arrived at my doorstep.

The INNOCN 40C1R has several other interesting entries on its technical specification sheet. It promises 500 cd/m² maximum brightness, 1,200:1 static contrast ratio, 95% of DCI-P3 color space coverage, factory calibration with ΔE
