The revamped Kolink Rocket V2 brings with it better compatibility with larger graphics cards and processor scooters, but the changes have also increased the outer dimensions of the case.

Hungarian-based Kolink has unveiled the successor to io-Tech’s Rocket case, which has also been tested in small mini-ITX cases. The revamped Kolink Rocket V2 has been released in the traditional way for the European manufacturer, which focuses mainly on cheaper head enclosures, in complete silence without major publicity.

Like its predecessor, the Kolink Rocket V2 is based on a so-called “sandwich” layout, meaning it uses a PCIe-riser cable to set the backing up of the motherboard and graphics card. The PCIe riser cable, like its predecessor, supports the PCIe 3.1 standard at its highest. However, compared to its predecessor, V2 has also been reformed to a relatively large extent. Externally, the case material has changed from 2 mm thick aluminum to 2.5 mm thicker aluminum, and the traditional four feet have been added to the case after the predecessor relied on rubber feet to be glued to a flat bottom. In addition, the front panel connectors and power button have moved from the lower right corner to the center of the top of the panel. There has also been a change in the connector range, with one USB 3.0 Type-A and one USB 3.2 Type-C instead of two USB 3.0 Type-A connectors.

In terms of interior fittings, the case has improved its compatibility, and the new Rocket V2 has room for video cards up to 2.9 slots thick 300 and 63 processor height mm mm. As is familiar from the previous model, the roof of the housing has a 92 fan slot, which is pre-installed with the manufacturer’s own PWM-controlled fan. However, as a renovation, it is also possible to place a 13 liquid cooler, in addition to which it has changed its position from the rear of the housing to the front. To counterbalance the improved compatibility, the case size has increased to just over 4 liters , to 8 liters.
