Telefónica has presented new tariffs that enable Internet via cable, DSL, mobile communications via the HomeSpot router or fiber optics. Telefónica wants to determine the most suitable transmission technology individually using an availability check. O2 My Home is available in five different configurations, which differ primarily in terms of speed. The new O2 tariffs with DSL, mobile communications and fiber optics will be available from November 3rd, with cable to follow later this month.

According to Telefónica, O2 My Home is the first tariff in Germany that combines DSL, cable, fiber optics and 4G / 5G via router. The HomeSpot router enables telephony and is touted by Telefónica as a full-fledged landline replacement. All tariff options include a telephony flat rate to the German landline network.

Cooperation with Vodafone The new O2 tariffs mark the start of the cooperation between Telefónica and Vodafone. According to its own statements, Telefónica can reach 24 millions of households with broadband cable via the Vodafone partnership. Another 2.3 million are to be added via Tele Columbus.

Vodafone opened its cable network last May for competitor Telefónica, which does not offer its own fixed network in Germany. With this step, Vodafone wanted to dispel antitrust concerns of the EU Commission regarding the takeover of Unitymedia.
