Samsung, which has given up developing its own Arm cores, has released a new premium-class Exynos system chip. Located one notch below the flagship level, Exynos 1080 is the company’s first 5-nanometer system circuit.

More specifically, one 2.8 GHz Arm Cortex-A 90 is pulsating at the heart of Samsung’s own 5-nanometer LPE Exynos 1080. core, three 2.6 GHz Cortex-A 78 cores and four 2.0 GHz Cortex-A 55 – the core. They are also supported by Mali-G 78 MP graphics controller and NPU (Neural Processing Unit) and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) specializing in artificial intelligence. The system chip supports UFS 3.1 storage and both LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 memories.

Samsung’s image processor supports a single 200 megapixel single sensor or two 32 megapixel sensors. Video recording supports 4K 60 FPS recording HEVC- (H. 265), H. 264, VP8 and VP9 codecs. The system circuit display controller supports HDR 16 standard and WQHD + resolution displays at most 90 Hertz and FullHD + resolution displays at a maximum 144 Hertz refresh rate.

Samsung’s 5G modem now supports download speeds of up to 5100 Mbps and transmission speeds of 1280 Mbps at frequencies below 6 GHz and up to 5100 at mmWave frequencies. Mbps download and upload speeds. For LTE support, the modem supports Cat 16 / / level and 1000 Mbps download speed. The system chip supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 standards. GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo are supported by positioning systems.
