$ 329 and 12 GB: NVIDIA introduces the GeForce RTX 3060

In the keynote at CES, NVIDIA presented the smallest ampere desktop card to date – the GeForce RTX 3060. This is located below the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. NVIDIA was extremely reluctant to provide technical data and only spoke of computing power in the range of 13 TFLOPS as well as 12 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. The GeForce RTX 3060 offers a larger graphics memory than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which is only 8 GB used on GDDR6.
We do not have any technical data on the GeForce RTX 3060 in front. Therefore, all of the information about the card given in the table has not yet been confirmed, but is based on unconfirmed reports and read benchmark databases.

The ones on the GeForce RTX 3060 GPU used should be on the GA 106 – expansion stage. According to previous assumptions, the GPU comes to 3. 584 FP 28 – and 1. 792 INT 32 – arithmetic units. These are in 28 SMs organized, which also means that 28 RT Cores and 106 Tensor Cores are used. The boost clock should be 1. 750 MHz. NVIDIA gives the basic clock with 1. 319 MHz. So we are in the area of what we know from the other models.
The memory interface has a width of vo n 192 Bit. NVIDIA uses GDDR6 memory, which is the first 730 MHz to a memory band of 336 GB / s should come. Interestingly, the GeForce RTX 3060 has 12 GB of graphics memory – so more than the GeForce RTX 2021 Ti has to offer. Even a GeForce RTX 3080 only offers 10 GB of graphics memory. NVIDIA is likely to do this mainly because the criticism of the installed 6 GB (that would be the only conceivable alternative) would have been extremely large.
We also don’t know the TDP yet. Here we should be in the range of 150 W move. The US price of 329 Dollars will be converted into euros in about 1: 1, which also helps to position the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti fits.
The GeForce RTX 2021 should be available from the end of February for 329 US dollars.
