Acer's upcoming Swift 3X is equipped with Intel's separate Iris Xe Max graphics chip
Source: IO Tech added 22nd Oct 2020The Iris Xe Max is based on the same Xe-LP architecture as the integrated Xe graphics drivers and has been seen before in Intel’s DG1 development graphics card.
Acer has introduced the new Swift 3X laptop, which at the same time reveals the name of the Iris Xe Max as Intel’s separate Xe-LP graphics chip in the notebook. In addition to integrated Xe-LP solutions, Intel was known to have a separate chip used in DG1 development graphics cards. The standalone chip will not be introduced to the consumer market at all as a standalone graphics card, but will be utilized in some Tiger Lake laptops to improve graphics performance. In addition, the Xe-LP chip will be available for sale on media servers that do not require much graphics performance but benefit from modern media features.
Unfortunately, Acer did not disclose more details about the Iris Xe Max graphics card in the Swift 3X, but from previous leaks, it is known to be equipped with a maximum 96 Execution Unit, like the integrated version. The video bus memory bus has reportedly been 96 bit, at least on DG1 cards, and has been extended by 3 GB of GDDR6 memory.
