ADATA XPG

Some weeks ago ADATA XPG unveiled the Spectrix D 50 Xtreme , a family of DDR4 memories designed for gamers and overclockers capable of working default up to 5000 MHz. The company has returned to talk about it to announce that the XPG Overclocking Lab ( XOCL ) managed to push the memories up to 5300 MHz in stabil and with air cooling.

In this way ADATA XPG aims to demonstrate the absolute quality of these modules, characterized by a Carefully designed PCB and selected DRAM chips . The frequency was reached on the new motherboard MEG B 550 UNIFY-X by MSI , which thanks to just two memory slots is aimed at overclockers who have a more moderate budget than those who can afford products at the top of the sector.

Overclockers used an AMD processor Ryzen 7 Pro 4750 G (one Renoir APU), while the two 8GB memory modules were configured with timing 19 – 28 – 28 – 48 . The tension used to push the memory so high was not disclosed. It should be noted that the Renoir desktop APUs, which cannot be purchased in the store as they are intended for preassembled PCs, are gaining some popularity among overclockers thanks to a very malleable memory controller.

Not it is clear at the moment if ADATA XPG intends to make Spectrix D 50 Xtreme DDR4 – 5300 to be put on the market or if it is just a test of strength, but generally these records lead to the creation of special editions that serve to give prestige to the brand.
