Last year had aroused great interest during the Sony press conference the appearance of a car, Vision-S, a prototype / laboratory in which Sony has integrated all the sensors which is developing for assisted and autonomous driving . Now the prototype is undergoing test drive on public roads and in this digital edition of CES 2021 new pictures of the car on the road were shown.
AirPeak: Sony’s home drone
What is interesting this time is the shooting medium: AirPeak . We are talking about the long-awaited Sony home drone , a quadcopter of generous dimensions , which was created for the shooting market professional and which is designed to take off with the mirrorless full frame Alpha A7 / A9 of the Japanese manufacturer, with the relative optics.
From the video it is possible to collect some elements: the quadcopter has a double housing for large batteries , both to give the power needed to lift the payload , and – probably – to ensure autonomy in line with the needs of professional shooting.
Sony AirPeak has a retractable landing gear and various sensors , both for the guide rem ota through the radio control , both for the recognition of obstacles . Sony CEO Kenichido Yoshida then spoke about Artificial Intelligence on board. At the moment these are the details that we are able to extract from the video, it will be interesting to see if the Japanese giant will release others during the fair or if it will be necessary to wait for an official presentation later on.
