In a landmark event for Apple’s AirPods range of headphones, iFixit has finished with the disassembly of the AirPods Max and has evaluated the repairability of the device, and it is that, although the usual with brand headphones has always been a 0 over 10 due to a design that does not allow any type of repair , the AirPods Max are not only minimally repairable, but they manage to get out of the iFixit laboratory with a grade of 6 above 10.
Although it is true that a 6 is not a stellar note or much less, it is clear that Apple does not see these AirPods as a desired headphones chables , but any component that may fail inside can be repaired by a technician or an experienced user with the repair of devices like this.
According to iFixit, we found several components designed for repair, with connectors for practically everything and a clear preference for screws over glue , although there is too great a variety of screws, with heads that even the company’s kits do not have, so, if we really have to go all the way, we will have to arrive well prepared.
In any case, it is clear that the larger size of the AirPods Max makes repairs easier compared to the rest of the brand’s headphones.
