Alibaba Group is preparing a response to InPost parcel lockers. AliExpress parcel machines can be installed in Warsaw
Source: Pure PC added 19th Jan 2021The Polish e-commerce market is growing at an unprecedented rate. This is undoubtedly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Closed stores mean the need to carry out purchasing processes through online platforms. Packages with orders are delivered to our homes by couriers, but parcel lockers are also very popular. InPost parcel machines allow you to pick up the ordered purchases at a convenient time for us and are cheaper than traditional delivery “to the door”. The company has no competition at the moment. This may change thanks to the Alibaba Group, which, operating in the e-commerce industry, shows interest in parcel machines.
Alibaba, an e-commerce giant, is looking for a manager in Poland who would help in the development of the Warsaw parcel machine network. Should InPost be concerned about its position?

Wiadomościhandlowe.pl website informed about the potential plans of Alibaba Group, the owner of the e-commerce platform from the Middle Kingdom, popular among Poles, regarding parcel machines . At least this is indicated by the advertisement posted on Linkedin. It shows that the company is looking for a manager in Poland who would be responsible for the development and service of a network of points similar in operation to InPost parcel lockers. According to the information contained in the job offer, the location also appears. This means that the machines would be installed in Warsaw in the first place. Will Alibaba be limited to the capital only?

The main interested party, i.e. Alibaba, does not want to share plans regarding this issue at the moment. The case can only be a ground survey before a detailed and country-wide investment is developed. Creating a pilot program with parcel machines in the main role in Warsaw may be an attempt to verify the chance of competing with the InPost brand, well-rooted in the minds of customers. Therefore, it remains to follow the topic closely and expect the possible appearance of the above-mentioned parcel machines on the streets of Warsaw.
