Allegro will create a network of vending machines for picking up and sending parcels. What about parcel machines used by the service provider?
Source: Pure PC added 21st Dec 2020According to Reuters information, to which the Cashless Allegro website refers, plans to create its own network of parcel machines, which I did not call parcel machines only for formal reasons. The name is legally reserved by InPost. Is the native e-commerce giant going to get a partner whose services it uses? I sincerely doubt such a scenario, however, it must be borne in mind that Allegro is not the first time to become independent of the service providers it uses. In addition, DHL was also invited to work on the solution, apart from InPost. There are many unknowns in the case, but this does not prevent a closer look at the available information.
Allegro, the largest e-commerce service provider operating in Poland, plans to create its own network of parcel machines . Points for sending and receiving parcels would follow the example of InPost Parcel Lockers.
Couriers, parcels and coronavirus, i.e. armageddon in logistics
InPost can boast of as many as 10 thous. parcel machines located in various locations in Poland. It is an extremely recognizable solution that is also gaining popularity thanks to Allegro. When you decide to use the Allegro Smart service, you get the option to order goods to Paczkomaty, without incurring the cost of shipping (from a specified amount). According to Reuters, the auction and trade platform wants to create its own network of parcel points. Rather, it will not be a direct competition of parcel machines.

Allegro debuts on the WSE and starts with record market capitalization
According to reports, Allegro wants to launch around 3,000 jobs next year. points operating in the same way as InPost points. With regard to parcel machines, this seems to be a modest number. Nevertheless, the aforementioned InPost and DHL were invited to cooperate in the project. It is therefore questionable whether Allegro intends to brand parcel machines with its own brand. We owe the report to the person involved in the project who wishes to remain anonymous. Allegro has not yet responded to the matter.
