Amazon Cloud: Storage at AWS, without changes to the business processes
Source: Heise.de added 08th Jan 2021In future, Amazon’s AWS Transfer can also be used with the in-house Elastic File System (EFS). Transfer is a service that allows users to transfer files to the cloud provider’s servers via SFTP, FTPS and FTP.
So far, Transfer could only be used with S3 as a goal. EFS is Amazon’s implementation of a fully managed NFSv4 file system. EFS can be used with EC2 VMs and local servers at the same time. Furthermore, it automatically adapts the capacity and performance to the needs of the user without having to interrupt the systems.
AWS Transfer is primarily aimed at companies that already use SFTP for internal and external processes. Use FTPS or FTP. In this way, you should retain existing workflows and authentication systems, but at the same time be able to use S3 or EFS as a cloud storage infrastructure.
The data provided on EFS can then be opened Use your wish in other AWS VPC resources. For instructions on setting up AWS Transfer in EFS, see the Amazon blog entry.
