Source: HW Upgrade added 21st Oct 2020

Ryzen processors 5000 are coming and for this reason the owners of motherboards with series chipsets 500 would do well not only to update the firmware (who has a series motherboard 400 will have to wait until January), if they haven’t already, but also keep the rest of the drivers at the latest version. In the past few hours AMD has published the 2 drivers. 10 . 13. 408 dedicated to its chipsets , not only the most recent for the AM4 socket, but also the previous series 300, 400 and the X solutions 399 and TRX 40 intended for Ryzen Threadrippers.

I new drivers include a number of bug fixes and minor features , but there is also a update regarding the dedicated Ryzen CPU power profile which could lead to improvements in efficiency and / or performance. The company did not go into details, but the energy profile has passed from version 6.0.0.3 to 6.0.0.7.

News also for the MicroPEP driver that helps to manage the transitions between the energy states and frequencies of the chip and the I2C driver, with frequency optimizations to regulate the behavior of the various subsystems.
