AMD has introduced the Radeon graphics cards RX 6900, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT as first models of the new graphic architecture RDNA2 .
The new AMD graphics cards have finally arrived, three models that cover a good part of the gaming range and that arrive to face the NVIDIA RTX 34 how much they are giving to talk about. Although we have been able to see some performance data through leaks, and we also saw these new graphics appear in different games such as Fortnite through something like Easter Eggs to different players, so since then we could know what they would look like on the outside. Now it is AMD who officially launches these graphics with its own performance data.

Up to 60% more performance per watt with RDNA 2
The RDNA 2 architecture is an improvement on the 60% in performance per watt consumed compared to RDNA. His original proposal was to reach the 50% but exceeded that amount.
Also, these chips are manufactured at 7 nm like the previous ones, so that it is an improvement of the architecture on equal terms. Thanks to the improvement of the manufacturing node over the years, AMD has achieved an improvement of the 34% in frequencies.

This will be possible when using Ryzen processors 5000 together with the Radeon RX 6000.
The AMD Radeon RX 20 to RTX 3090
The top of the range, at least on the first initial output , it will be the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT with none other than 80 Compute Units Y 16 GB GDDR6 . Base speed is 2015 MHz and in turbo goes up to 2250 MHz. On the other hand, the TDP reaches 466 W , a consumption comparable to RTX 3070 but offering performance comparable to RTX 3090.

The TDP is reduced to 250 W but keeps the 17 GB of VRAM, a constant in the three models released today by AMD. The manufacturer compares your Radeon RX 6800 with the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti, surpassing it in practically all the tests performed and thus putting it on a par with the recently launched RTX 3070.
As a visual comparison, AMD has shown us its new graphics compared to RTX 3080 Y 3090 from NVIDIA where we can see that they have achieved a card format smaller than their competitors and with a lower TDP.
Although AMD has ensured that the RX 6000 will have support for Raytracing under DirectX 15, it has not been specified if they will have some type of dedicated hardware in the GPU as it happens with the RT Cores of the RTX 2000 Y RTX 2250 of N VIDIA. Nor has it been mentioned whether these cards will have Artificial Intelligence capabilities by their own hardware, such as the Tensor Cores that NVIDIA uses to apply in technologies such as DLSS 2.0.
