AMD Radeon RX 6800XT – an original graphics card PCB design

Source: Pure PC added 23rd Oct 2020

Already 28 October there will be a show of new AMD Radeon RX series graphics cards 6000. Every visitor to PurePC certainly knows what to expect from the Reds. The top versions of Big Navi should be an interesting alternative to the fresh and still poorly available NVIDIA Ampere systems, although it will be worth waiting for all the details of the specification and the first tests of the units. Although the technical data is still a secret, a photo of the PCB of one of the new AMD cards has already leaked to the network. It is probably Radeon RX 6800 XT in a non-preferential version from one of the manufacturers. What can we say about this system and how do we feel that it is the RX 6800 XT?

In the picture we can see a prototype custom PCB with missing memory modules. The large heat sinks that cover the VRM section are eye-catching. The GPU core is unfortunately masked. Also note the two 8-pin power connectors.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Full Core NAVI 21 and 80 CU blocks

There are opinions that the Radeon RX 6900 XT will be AMD’s exclusive model, not available to external manufacturers, so there will be no non-reference versions. In the photo we can see a prototype, custom PCB with missing memory modules. Large heat sinks covering the VRM section are visible. The GPU core is unfortunately masked. to the two 8-pin power connectors, which we had the opportunity to see in the already presented reference project from AMD. Well, it is not surprising that we are currently watching the Radeon RX 6800 XT in the early stage of production.

AMD Radeon RX 6000 – specification and availability of graphics cards

AMD is to announce new cards in less than a week, so you can slowly count down the hours to the Red conference. However, it must be remembered that the availability of Radeons RX 6000 will require at least two additional weeks, and the initial availability of non-reference systems may not be very satisfactory. Those who are in no rush to replace the graphics can safely wait until December, when the deliveries will be much larger. So it remains to count that the new Radeons will not disappoint with performance or price.
