AMD Radeon RX 6900XT – full NAVI 21 core specification
Source: Pure PC added 29th Oct 2020Recently, AMD finally introduced the first graphics cards based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The presentation turned out to be extremely interesting, as in the manufacturer’s opinion, the new Radeon RX cards 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6900 XT will compete with current NVIDIA GeForce RTX cards 3070, GeForce RTX 3080, and even GeForce RTX 3090. During the show, the general performance of the cards was demonstrated, the release dates and prices were given, and several features of the RDNA 2 architecture were presented, such as Infinity Cache, Rage Mode and Smart Access Memory, which works in conjunction with Ryzen series processors 5000. Now, however, we discuss the full specification of all three cards and check what the full NAVI core offers 2020 , known in the industry as Big NAVI.
specification of AMD Radeon RX 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6900 XT, which use the NAVI core 21, RDNA 2 architecture and 7 nm technological process.

NAVI graphics core 21, used in Radeon RX 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6900 XT has 26, 8 miles iarda of transistors. For comparison, Ampere GA core 96 has 28 billion transistors using Samsung’s 8nm process. NAVI Full Face 18 in the form of NAVI 21 XTX is available only in the top Radeon RX 6900 XT, which will be available from December 8 for the price of 999 dollars (approx. 4700 gold incl. VAT). He has 80 redesigned Compute Units, which translates to 5120 stream processors. For each one CU block, one unit is allocated to accelerate Ray Tracing. AMD calls it “Ray Accelerator”. Similarly, therefore, in Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800 of these units will be 72 and 60.

Based on information from AMD, Radeon RX graphics card 6800 will be more efficient than GeForce RTX 2080 Ti in 4K resolution and more often will be able to get smooth 60 frames per second under these conditions. However, it will be more expensive than the GeForce RTX 3070 by 80 dollars, with on the other hand, we get twice as much VRAM here. For Radeon RX 6800 XT the price is about 50 dollars lower (649 USD vs 699 USD). In some games, the new card is supposed to achieve slightly better results compared to its direct competitor. However, we still do not know the actual performance with Ray Tracing enabled. Radeon RX 6900 XT as top is matched with GeForce RTX 3090, but it costs from it 500 dollars less (999 USD vs 1499 USD). We still have to wait for independent tests, but it looks like there is really an exciting rivalry between AMD and NVIDIA, which we have not seen in the high-end graphics card market in years.
