November started in force, with the launch of AMD Ryzen processors 5000, the enthusiasts will receive a whole series of goodies this month, from the new boards AMD Radeon RX graphics 6000 and up to new Nvidia RTX models. I told you last week about AMD Ryzen 9 5950 X and AMD Ryzen 9 5900 X, the first processors based on Zen 3 that I received in tests and last but not least I built a dream system, based on Ryzen 9 5900 X and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090.
Well, as has happened with every AMD processor release in the last 3 years, we haven’t received all the processors at once. However, this time you don’t have much time to wait, because AMD Ryzen 7 5800 X and AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X have already arrived in our laboratory and today we will see what their skin can do. Given that the top of the range amazed us both by multi-threaded performance and single-thread performance, respectively performance in games, we are all curious about what the little family is capable of.
In fact, AMD has quickly adapted to the new position of absolute leader in the processor market, as a result prices have risen compared to the previous launch. And given that many enthusiasts are looking for the best price-performance ratio, AMD Ryzen 7 5800 X and AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X will definitely be the favorites of a large number of users, so today’s article is perhaps even more important than the one published at launch.
Especially since we eliminated from the graphics the processors that are not related to this price range, more precisely the models from the Ryzen Threadripper range and we included important competitors from Intel, such as Core i5 10400, to get a complete picture of the situation in the mainstream / high-end segment.
For those who don’t remember, AMD Ryzen 7 5800 X is equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base frequency of 3.8GHz and a maximum frequency of 4.7GHz, 36 MB cache L3 if a TDP of 105 W, being sold for 2349 RON, while AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X is equipped with 6 cores, threads (3.7GHz / 4.6GHz), 35 MB cache L3 and a TDP of only 105 W, to be marketed for 1679 RON.
