AMD has integrated Smart Access Memory technology into its Radeon RX graphics 6000 to access VRAM directly from the processor without going through the chipset.

The release of AMD Radeon RX graphics 6000 has been a turning point in the company by not only reaching, but surpassing, the NVIDIA RTX 30. In fact, the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT competes with the NVIDIA RTX 3090, costing and consuming less in favor of the former. AMD has also implemented a new technology that will be possible to use as long as we have one of the new Ryzen processors 5000 together with one of these Radeon RX graphics 6000. It is about the technology AMD Smart Access Memory and through which the performance in many games will be increased by enable a direct path from the CPU to the graphics memory.

In this way, according to AMD the performance in games increases by up to 11% in titles like Forza Horizon 4, something that is an automatic improvement just for buying latest generation AMD processor and graphics , and that surely has room for improvement through software updates.

Along with this technology, AMD has been incorporating numerous technologies over the years until Reduced Buffering, Enhanced Sync, Anti-Lag and Radeon Boost. All this separately, it has nothing to do with the performance data provided for AMD Smart Access Memory .

With 15 years I started overclocking my PC to get every extra FPS I could in games and scratch a few milliseconds in SuperPi, while I was constantly posting about hardware on the Geeknetic forum as a user and reader. They must have been so fed up with continually reading me on the forum that I became part of the writing team, where I continue to report on the latest in technology. Astrophysics and PC games are the hobbies that, after hardware, cover most of my free time.
