Apple’s music memos app will be discontinued after almost five years: With a last update to version 1.0.7, the manufacturer integrated an export function at the end of last week to transfer recordings to the library of the pre-installed voice memos app – but only for Users who already have their iPhone or iPad on iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.

All data should end up in the voice memos app in a new folder called “Music Memos” – it may be necessary to free up storage space to enable the transfer. If new recordings are created in music memos after exporting, they should also be copied to voice memos to be on the safe side, according to Apple.

The beginning 2016 introduced the music memos app was intended to record music ideas on iPhone and iPad and automatically add drums and bass accompaniment to them. It was also possible to publish it on Soundcloud, Youtube and the Connect artist network, which was initially integrated into Apple Music – but the latter has not existed for around two years.
