Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420: Promising AiO cooling with XXL radiator
Source: Hardware Luxx added 03rd Nov 2020The Arctic Liquid Freezer II series shines with its attractive price-performance ratio. So far there was already 120 -, 240 -, 280 – and 360 – mm models – we could use the Liquid Freezer II 240 testing. But Arctic now wants to crown the AiO cooling series with an even more powerful model. The Liquid Freezer II 420 receives a powerful 420 – mm radiator.
AiO cooling with such a 120 – mm triple radiator are rare – and that too The selection of compatible housings with 420 – mm radiator space and for 458 mm radiator length is limited. But an even larger heat exchanger area promises even higher performance. Arctic then states that the Liquid Freezer II 420 will be the most powerful model in the series.
The Liquid Freezer II 420 also has the distinctive cooler-pump combination with a flanged 40 – mm fan. This additional fan should cool the mainboard voltage converter and compensate for a potential weakness of AiO cooling. It works with 1. to 3. 000 RPM. Arctic P 14 PWM serve as radiator fans. These 140 – mm fans have been optimized for static pressure. They work with 200 to 1. 700 rpm. The pump can also be controlled via PWM. Their speed range extends from 800 to 2. 000 RPM.
The Liquid Freezer II 420 is compatible with the AMD sockets AM4 and AM3 (+) as well as for the Intel sockets LGA 1200, 115 X, 2011 – 3 *, 2066 each Square ILM) compatible.
Despite the particularly large radiator, the purchase price for the Liquid Freezer II 420 remains within limits. Arctic gives an EIA of 119, 99 euros. Compared to the Liquid Freezer II 360 with 360 – mm radiator these are only 10 Euro surcharge (with a view to the RRP). First listings in the price comparison mean that the 420 – mm model even has a lower retail price of just over 100 recognize euros.
