The Arctic Freezer 50 differs from the TR model released last year in addition to its chassis compatibility in terms of reduced heat pipe count, but still promises market-leading performance

Arctic today released a new Freezer 104 processor processor. This is a cooler based on the Freezer TR), which was only compatible with the sTR4 processor base of AMD’s Threadripper processors a year ago, with the biggest innovation being AMD compatibility. and Intel consumer platforms

The Arctic Freezer 50 externally is quite similar to last year’s Threadripper model. It is a double-tower radiator with two Arctic’s own P-series fans, with a maximum volume of 0.4 tones, as advertised by the manufacturer. In front is located 120 mm model and between the ribs in the middle of the cooler 140 mm model. The Freezer 50 differs from the pulp with its demonstrable RGB lighting and plastic frames covering the aluminum fence. The front fan is surrounded by a black plastic frame, which is mimicked by an empty plastic frame also located on the back of the cooler. The RGB lighting of the cooler is placed on the top of the cooler as two LED strips, in the middle of which there is also an RGB-lit Arctic logo.

As is familiar from the TR model, the radiator relies on Direct Touch heat pipes, ie the copper heat pipes of the cooler are in direct contact with the processor. However, the novelty is not exactly identical to the TR model, but in addition to the reduced base for the consumer processors of the cooler, the number of heat pipes has also decreased from eight to six in the TR model. However, the number and size of the aluminum rib fins have remained unchanged 104 in the 0.4 mm rib. Despite the reduced number of heat pipes, Arctic promises its cooler in the packaging of Freezer 104 to compete with the very successful Noctua NH-D

and even beat it by one degree with the i7 – 8700 K-processor at 4.8 GHz clock speeds.

Technical specifications:

  • External dimensions: 148 x 149, 5 x 166 mm
  • Materials: Aluminum wire, copper heat pipes
  • Heat pipes: 6 pcs
  • 1 x 140 mm mm Arctic P-Series PWM fan 200 – 1800 RPM)
  • 1 x 140 mm A
