The cooperation between Ubisoft and Netfliks seems to be going well for both companies, because it has just deepened. In recent months, we have mentioned in PurePC that the animated Splinter Cell or the film Beyond Good & Evil are in preparation, and we are already getting to know the first details about the next project. This time, Ubisoft is teaming up with Netfliks to create a live-action series (and more) based on Assassin’s Creed, one of the most popular game franchises today, which dates back to 2007 the year when the first part about the conflict between the Templar Brotherhood and the Assassin Order in 1191 went on sale, during Richard the Lionheart’s third crusade. What do we know about the project?

Netflix and Ubisoft have announced that an action series will be created in the Assassin’s Creed universe. In addition, classic animation and anime are also planned. The projects are at a very early stage of work.

Netflix and Ubisoft are working on the series anime in the world of Splinter Cell

Ubisoft and Netflix’s plans go further as both companies want to build a true Assassin’s Creed television universe. The executive producers will be Jason Altman (Orange Is the New Black, Blacklist, Luke Cage) and Danielle Kreinik (Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Skull & Bones) of Ubisoft Film & Television. As part of the signed agreement, smaller productions will also be created, such as anime and classic animation. The series, of course, in the undefined future will only go to the Netflix streaming platform, where more and more screenings of games appear (including Dragon’s Dogma and Castlevania, and there are even more plans, including Resident Evil, Diablo or The Division) ).

The Assassin’s Creed series project for Netflix is in its early stages. Currently, the search for the so-called showrunner who will take care of him, so it’s too early to talk about even the cast. We do not know which installment of the Ubisoft and Netflix series they intend to focus on. The choice is quite wide and, in principle, they do not have to be limited to the published games. They can choose to go back to a historical period that has not been touched before. The Assassin’s Creed universe offers unlimited possibilities, so the creators have a lot of room to show off. May they be better off than in the not-so-successful full-length movie starring Michael Fassbender. Players will see 10 this year, a new part – AC: Valhalla, which will take them to 9th-century Europe, to the Viking Age.
