The latest chapter of Assassin’s Creed introduces a special paid add-on. This is a booster pack that will speed up progression in the game by providing more experience points, just like it did in Odyssey. Ubisoft reassures: Valhalla’s design was not influenced by boosters.

Assassin’s Creed Ubisoft

In this very hot videogame season, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla undoubtedly plays a leading role. The latest adventure baked by Ubisoft catapult players into the world of the Vikings, in that of Eivor to be precise , entertaining them for dozens – if not hundreds – of hours in what we can define as one of the most full-bodied singleplayers ever.

Being a singleplayer, in fact, we can only remain stunned as we witness the introduction of the “booster pack” for a fee : it is now possible to purchase experience points progress faster in the game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: It really makes sense to buy XP boosters?

As reported by Game Informer, the digital store found in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has recently been updated with new purchasable items, including the infamous XP boosters. With these items it is possible to obtain a bonus, equivalent to a certain percentage, for the accumulation of in-game experience points; the effect of the booster will be permanent.

For example, spending approximately 10 euro for the purchase of 1000 Helix credits you can buy a boost of 50%: in this way we will halve the time needed to level up , enhancing our Eivor extremely quickly. Alternatively, a bundle worth 1500 credits (approx. 15 euro) will offer a boost of 50% applicable to both XP points and obtainable money.

The question therefore arises: why spend money to get more experience in a single player title? According to Ubisoft, consulted by the Game Informer editorial team, tools such as the booster in question “allow players who do not have the time to explore the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to be able to acquire the best equipment in the game, as well as other items, accelerating one’s progress “.

This is not the first time we’ve found this kind of add-on in an Assassin’s Creed. Odyssey also allowed players to purchase a booster pack, a rather tempting investment, given the slow – very slow – progression proposed in the penultimate chapter. Replying to Game Informer, Ubisoft stated that Valhalla was not affected by the XP boosters: the speed of accumulation of experience points has not been altered in any way ; on the contrary, in the new Assassin’s Creed the progression is even faster and “satisfying” than in the past.

In short, in the end the choice will be up to the player alone. Should you lack the time to explore the boundless world of Valhalla, booster packs can actually help you out or, at the very least, help you not get caught unprepared for the most important battles.

XP boosters arrive one month after the launch of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla , available since last 10 November on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and Xbox One .
