The collaboration between a graphics card and water cooling manufacturer is nothing new. ASUS has now announced one with EK Water Blocks. Models of the GeForce RTX 3070, GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 come with a full cover from the manufacturer -Water cooler equipped by EKWB. The water coolers are the EK-Quantum Vector RTX in a variant that has been adapted for ASUS graphics cards.

With this offer, ASUS is aimed at buyers who already have such a card want to equip them with a water cooler, but they shy away from the risk of changing the cooler.

The three models are named EKWB GeForce RTX 3090, EKWB GeForce RTX 3080, EKWB GeForce RTX 3070. However, ASUS does not provide any information about the clock speeds. The TUF Gaming, ROG Strix or DUAL variants of the series apparently do not serve as the basis, because they have a different layout. Another difference can be seen in the slot bracket, where ASUS offers three DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 versions for all models, but only two HDMI 2.1 versions for the EKWB models to accommodate all connections on a single-slot bracket.

As with all coolers of the EK-Quantum-Vector series, the “Open Split-Flow Cooling Engine” is used in the models on the ASUS cards. This should be able to guarantee sufficient cooling capacity at low flow rates. The direction in which the water flows through the circuit should not play a role. The basis of every cooler is a nickel-plated cooling block made of copper. The channels are milled into these by CNC. EPDM O-rings complete the cycle together with the acrylic plate. An LED light strip then brings some color into play.

In addition to the technical data, there is no information about the price. ASUS calls for availability in mid-November for the ASUS EKWB GeForce RTX 3090 and 3080 models and wants the EKWB GeForce RTX 3070 from the end of November.

Depending on the variant, the price for the EK-Quantum Vector RTX ranges between 120 and 140 euros. ASUS offers the cheapest versions of the GeForce RTX 3070 from 499 euros in its own webshop. For a GeForce RTX 3080 742, 90 euros are due and a GeForce RTX 3090 starts at 1. 572, 90 Euro . A certain surcharge for the combination of graphics card and water cooler can be assumed.
