Introduction
ASUS is a Taiwan-based computer hardware and electronics company founded in 1989. With the ROG Keris II Ace, ASUS updates the original Keris on multiple levels. Though still a right-handed ergonomic design, the Keris II Ace debuts an almost entirely new shape. Much like on the ROG Harpe Ace, a bio-based nylon shell is utilized to achieve a weight of 54 g, without any holes or an open-bottom design. Internally, the Keris II Ace comes with ASUS’s latest AimPoint Pro sensor capable of 42,000 CPI, which prominently features improved glass-tracking capabilities. For the main buttons, the new ROG Optical Micro Switches rated for 100 million actuations are used, which inherently are incapable of inadvertent double-clicking. The Keris II Ace is capable of both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connectivity, and up to 107 hours of battery life are cited without illumination using 2.4 GHz wireless. Via Bluetooth, the Keris II Ace is able to pair to up to three hosts, and the Omni receiver of the Keris II Ace may also connect to up to three devices. By default, the Keris II Ace is a regular USB full-speed device limited to a polling rate of 1000 Hz, but by using the included ROG polling rate booster, it becomes a USB high-speed device capable of up to 8000 Hz in wired operation and up to 4000 Hz in wireless operation. The feet are made of pure PTFE. Basic RGB lighting is present, and configuration is possible within Armoury Crate or a stripped-down, peripheral-only version called Armoury Crate Gear. Though not mentioned anywhere, the Keris II Ace is also compatible with NVIDIA Reflex. The ROG Keris II Ace is available either in black or white.
