With the TUF Gaming VG 289 Q1A, ASUS has a new screen with a diagonal of 28 inches and the UHD resolution of 3. 840 x 2. 160 pixels presented. Adaptive-Sync for NVIDIA graphics cards and FreeSync for AMD graphics cards are also supported. Despite the classification in a gaming series, the TUF Gaming VG 289 Q1A will not make every gamer happy.

That is mainly due the maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz, which is not optimal at least for action-heavy games. If you can live with this refresh rate, you should not only benefit from the high resolution and pixel density of the TUF Gaming VG 289 Q1A, but also from 90 – Percentage coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and benefit from an IPS panel with relatively stable viewing angles (178 degrees of viewing angle). The maximum brightness is 350 cd / ㎡, the contrast ratio is 1. 000: 1 specified. ASUS specifies the response time from gray-to-gray change to 5 ms.

The TUF Gaming VG 289 Q1A can be connected via two HDMI 2.0 ports or one DisplayPort 1.2. Two loudspeakers with two watts RMS power each were also integrated. The displas can be inclined in the range from -5 to + 20 ° and by 15 ° can be rotated. However, it is not possible to adjust the height. If necessary, the 100 x 100 – mm VESA mounting can provide more flexibility.

ASUS has not yet provided any information on the price of the TUF Gaming VG 289 Q1A. The older model TUF Gaming VG 289 Q with similar specifications, but a different and more flexible stand, is available from around 400 euros. However, according to the price comparison it is currently not available.
