Asus promises at least two Radeon RX 6800 and two RX 6800 XT models: ROG Strix LC RX 6800 XT, ROG Strix RX 6800, TUF RX 6800 XT and TUF RX 6800

Yesterday, AMD unveiled new Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards based on RDNA2 architecture. Only AMD’s reference model was seen at the launch, but now Asus is the first AIB manufacturer to introduce its own offering.

Asus’ new ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT top model is equipped with AIO fluid circulation and hybrid cooling. The Strix LC’s hybrid block is two slots high and includes a separate radial fan to cool the graphics card’s power supply and other components, as well as the graphics circuit and memory cooling block itself. At the other end of the closed fluid circuit is a 240 millimeter condenser. Asus does not disclose in its release the model of fans used in the unit, but mentions that they are specifically designed for radiator use.

The more traditional Strix line is followed by the ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800. Its 2.9-slot cooler is at least externally compatible with Asus’ ROG Strix GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards, and Asus has designed its own circuit board to be short enough so that the last of the three fans can blow some of the air through the cooler and the card.

The TUF gang will be offered both Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT. Like the Strix RX 6800, their 2.9-slot coolers look at least externally familiar from Asus ’latest-generation GeForce models. The models in the TFF series GeForce RTX series) have at least recently convinced with their cooling, which also promises good for the new TUF Radeons. TUF models also use Asus’ own shorter circuit board so that some of the air blown by the cooler goes directly to the back of the graphics card.

None of Asus’ new graphics cards follow AMD’s range of reference connectors for reference models. The ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT is equipped with one USB Type-C connector, two HDMI 2.1 connectors and one DisplayPort 1.4a connector. The other three models are equipped with one HDMI 2.1 connector and three DisplayPort 1.4a connectors.

Asus has not yet announced the recommended prices for its graphics cards or confirmed when they will go on sale
