Battlefield Electronic Arts

On the occasion of a meeting with investors, Electronic Arts practically confirmed the existence of Battlefield 6 , next iteration of the historic first person shooter. The new chapter would already be in the testing phase and, according to the publisher’s words, it will be the biggest ever.

The official announcement now seems imminent, but from the first statements we can get an idea about the size of this ambitious project, curated once again by DICE .

EA: Six new games in development, including Battlefield 6

The latest EA news comes from the company’s latest financial report. Here CEO Andrew Wilson addressed the investors commenting on the results of the last quarter and most importantly , anticipating the company’s plans for the fiscal year 2022.

Apparently the US giant is working on six new games for next-gen consoles. They will be released between autumn 2021 and that 2022 and will include, among others, an unreleased chapter of the series Need for Speed made by Criterion Games (Need for Speed: Most Wanted) . We remind, among other things, that the racing game has recently returned to stores with Hot Pursuit Remastered.

The other franchise mentioned by Wilson is, precisely, that of Battlefield . The Australian manager confirmed that “DICE is making our next Battlefield game with a scale never seen before. Technical advances in the new consoles are enabling the team to deliver an authentic next-gen product for the franchise “. The Electronic Arts boss also lets us know that the first tests on the shooter have already started at the studios from the Swedish developer.

Thanks to the above report we also get a first launch window for Battlefield 6: a generic ‘ holiday 2021 ‘, which seems to guarantee release by the end of next year.

Following the ‘disappointing’ experience of the latest Battlefield V, the DICE-produced series will return to PC and next-generation consoles to face off against Activision’s rival, a Call of Duty which, judging from the first encounter with Black Ops Cold War, looks better than ever .
