Big increases in suggested graphics card prices – EVGA and Zotac are following ASUS. Poor time to upgrade your PC
Source: Pure PC added 15th Jan 2021We recently informed you that the ASUS concern announced an increase in the prices of suggested graphics cards and motherboards, and it is not going to end with these components. The company explained the increases with increased production and logistics costs and import tariffs, adding that it is doing its best to prevent the growth from being felt strongly by potential customers. As expected, ASUS is being followed by other manufacturers such as EVGA and Zotac, which have also decided to introduce price increases for GeForce RTX graphics cards 3000 even over 22%. This is a very big change – bigger increases can be noted in the case of Zotac, where the smallest difference is 12%, while in the case of EVGA – only 3.9%.
EVGA and Zotac follow in the footsteps of ASUS and significantly increase the prices of GeForce RTX graphics cards 3000. The differences are even over 16%.
ASUS announced an increase in the price of graphics cards and motherboards. Other PC components to go up at a later date
EVGA made changes to the prices of the GeForce RTX suggested graphics cards 3070 11 January this year. However, they only cover the US market for the time being and are mainly due to 25% duty on computer hardware imported from China, which forced GPU producers to increase or decrease. In the case of EVGA (average increase of 8%), they are not as drastic as in the case of Zotac, in the case of which we refer to increases from 12 to even 22, 6% (on average 16%!). In addition, EVGA announced that people who are on the waiting list or have benefited from notifications on the company’s website will receive cards at the original suggested price, but on condition that they are redeemed by 16 April this year.

It can be assumed that similar increases will also affect graphics cards from the AMD camp. The price increase will also include – as in the case of ASUS – other components, such as the motherboards mentioned in the introduction. It looks like 2021 a year will not be a good time to upgrade your PC. Not only that the suggested prices for computer hardware are rising or are set to go up, but also the poor availability of GeForce RTX 3000 and Radeon RX 6000 or the greater interest in the GPU on the part of “miners” does not help. Even without the hike, GPU prices are soaring sharply due to huge demand and insufficient supply. The problems with accessibility are to continue throughout the first quarter 2021 of the year, but even in the event of improvement, there is no need to return to the original prices. The discussed price increase covers only the American market so far, but probably due to the increased production or logistics costs, increases can also be expected in Europe, including Poland.
