Boomi Smart Working

Boomi is a ‘ Dell company (which acquired it in 2010) which creates a cloud-based and usable integration platform in as-a-Service (iPaaS) mode. He recently published the research Boomi Connections to understand the impact of remote work on workers from which it emerges that smart working makes people feel isolated and disconnected people, making it more complicated to share ideas and information.

Boomi Connections: Employees would like better communication tools

According to the research, more than half of the employees (58%) feel the weight of remote work and say they feel more isolated and disconnected from their work and their team. A problem also felt by the management: the 60% of the interviewed leaders declared that the smart working practices are making information sharing more difficult, and negatively affecting the ability to be creative . This despite the fact that there is no lack of technological tools. 20% of workers say new processes and applications have been added to do the job, and 41% report using the technology more frequently than in the past.

There are some positive aspects: slightly less than the 80% of IT leaders say their team feels more valued in this era of remote working, while the 78% of senior executives said IT was helpful or extremely helpful. The perception changes when it comes to collaborators: only 58% share this position.

An interesting aspect that emerges from Boomi Connections is related to the return to the office: if the 58% of CEOs can’t wait to get behind their desk, in the case of jobs the percentage is much lower, and stops at 23%. This difference can be explained by another data: 85% of employees are concerned about the return in the office, despite the problems highlighted and the sense of loneliness: about half of the sample admits to feeling the lack of human contact. But how do workers cope with loneliness? According to Boomi the 18% resorted to online meditation , the 17% dedicated to professional development , 19% to therapy and – curious fact- a 20% started talking to their pets .

Now it’s more important than ever overcome data silos and connect information, systems and, ultimately, people. When we are connected, new ideas emerge, problems are solved and human ingenuity prevails “- stated Mandy Dhaliwal, chief marketing officer of Boomi When you connect systems and data, you ultimately connect through people and it is this connecting power that drives us. entering a new era of integrated experiences where technological infrastructures and, above all, people, need to be better connected and seamlessly offer the same experience we are all experiencing as digital consumers “.
