Search at FinFisher for exporting state Trojans The Munich-based company FinFisher is suspected of having exported state Trojans. Since this is illegal, the Society for Freedom Rights has filed criminal charges with other organizations. Now the public prosecutor’s office has searched several of the company’s properties. Research by NDR and BR also shows connections to companies abroad.

FinFisher produces the FinSpy monitoring software. The company may pass this on within the EU, but only after approval to non-EU countries. There should not be an export permit from the federal government. Nevertheless, FinSpy 2017 turned up on a Turkish website to apparently spy on opposition members. That year Amnesty International discovered that the espionage software was also being used in Egypt.

Plans to improve road safety The number of fatalities in road traffic reached a new low last year, but 2019 still died on German roads 3046 people, as announced by the Federal Statistical Office. There was a sharp increase in fatal accidents involving pedelec drivers.

The federal and state governments now want to do more to further reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries in road traffic . This applies above all to accidents on country roads with cars and motorcycles as well as accidents in cities that hit pedestrians and cyclists because drivers drive too fast.
