Late last year, Brink Bionics released the multi-radar driver Impulse through a crowdfunding campaign. The company was also on display at the CES trade fair last week, where it introduced the driver.

Brink Bionics Impulse is intended for players who also want to minimize the delay caused by the human body. According to the company, the delay from the brain’s decision to click to the finger to perform the click takes an average of about 150 – 200 milliseconds. Impulse reads signals from the human brain to the muscles of the fingers and utilizes machine learning to identify clicks from them. According to the company, the device can be used to reduce this delay by an average of 30 – 50 and at best, even 80 milliseconds by bypassing the time taken for muscle contraction.

The Impulse is a glove-like device made of neoprene and is connected to a computer with a USB cable. In use, the glove replaces the left and right main mouse buttons, but not the thumb buttons, for example. In addition to the signal sensing electrodes, the Impulse is equipped with a Cortex-M0-based control circuit. It weighs 50 grams.

Although Brink Bionics Impulse’s IndieGoGo campaign has already officially ended, the driver is still available to order through the site. The price of the Impulse alone is approximately 115 euros before delivery costs and in addition the Gamer Pack with the carrying case and LED mouse pad is approximately 115. Prices are 17 – 30% lower than final resale prices. The glove guide will be available in four different sizes. The company estimates that impulse deliveries will begin in May 2021.
