There is no denying it, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a controversial launch. A big part of the controversy is the state of the game overall, with many encountering major bugs. On the base Xbox One and PS4 consoles, the situation is worse, as the game both runs poorly and doesn’t look close to the same level of fidelity that we saw from pre-release gameplay. CD Projekt Red has acknowledged this today, sending out an apology, offering refunds on console and lining out its plan for game-fixing patches.
The statement was posted to Twitter this morning, with the studio saying it will try to help facilitate refunds for the console version of the game up until the 21st of December. Unfortunately, this leaves out anyone receiving the game for Christmas this year, so it is far from a perfect response.

Aside from refunds though, CD Projekt Red also touches on its plans for patches. There will be a smaller patch coming later this week to tackle stability issues and bugs. However, the first ‘major’ patch won’t be coming until January, followed by a second major patch in February.
Judging by the state of things, Cyberpunk 2077 still came out too early, even after several delays. With the need for so many fixes, this could also impact when we see DLCs, expansions and the next-gen enhanced console versions of the game.
KitGuru Says: I’ve not encountered as many bugs on my PC rig, but I have seen it crash plenty of times. Of course, one quick look at social media will show all of the bugs people are encountering. Have many of you played Cyberpunk 2077 since launch? How has your experience been?
