CES 2021: Intel unveils its first 10nm desktop CPU, Alder Lake architecture, arriving in the second half of 2021
Source: Geeknetic added 11th Jan 2021At its CES event, Intel has shown for the first time a computer equipped with a processor with the next generation Intel Alder Lake in operation. A generation that will combine two CPU architectures and will launch the manufacturing process of 10 nm Superfin of the company in desktops.
Alder Lake will arrive at 10 nanometers combining two architectures on the same CPU
Alder Lake will be Intel’s first processor design to combine two core architectures at same time on the same CPU, we could say that it is an implementation similar to ARM’s big.LITTE , but with architecture x 86, where high-performance cores share space with cores with lower performance but higher efficiency.
10 nm SuperFin will be the new improved manufacturing process to which Alder Lake CPUs will be manufactured., the first time you will arrive at desktop, and that will allow the integration of faster transistors to improve the performance and efficiency of this new generation.
Alder lake will also reach laptops, although it is expected that in desktops it does it together with a new platform and LGA Socket 1700, at least according to the latest rumors.
