The concept is reminiscent of comparable prototypes that Chinese manufacturers such as TCL and Oppo have already demonstrated. In the TCL prototype, the display bulges into the body when the cell phone is contracted. If it is pulled apart, the motorized display rolls out over the entire length. According to TCL, your own mobile phone has a display size of 6 75 inches in the standard state, the mobile phone then comes out to 7.8 inches .

Oppo has with the Oppo X 2021 also presented a display with such a mechanism. The display can be extended and retracted at the push of a button. All of these concepts rely on a rollable OLED panel – but none of them has been on the market yet.

LG teasers and is silent The future of the LG Rollable is also open. LG has so far not given any information on whether the variable cell phone should come on the market or only intended as a design study. However, it would not be the first time that LG is offering unusual mobile phone concepts for sale: The LG Wing has, for example, two displays that can rotate against each other so that they form a cross. The LG Wing is offered in Germany for 1100 Euro.
