CES: Logitech introduces new video conferencing systems
Source: Heise.de added 14th Jan 2021Logitech is expanding its video conferencing system portfolio with three additional devices: Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini and Logitech RoomMate. After laptops, headsets and video cameras in particular boomed in the first wave of mobile working, manufacturers of video conferencing are now seeing a growing market. This is due to the fact that when you return to the office in the vast majority of meetings, employees who are currently elsewhere want to be added.
Rally Bar is designed for medium-sized rooms and appears at the end of the quarter

In the conference room, there is a flat screen on the wall, including a video bar with a camera, speakers and microphones. The Rally Bar will appear as the first product in the new Logitech portfolio in the first quarter. The special feature is the combination of two cameras. To the left of the middle there is a wide-angle camera that recognizes the shape of people using artificial intelligence (AI) and can control the orientation and zoom level of the main camera in the middle.
If another person enters the room, the AI can zoom in on the main camera without it having to search in the room first. That should avoid wild pans. The main camera has a resolution of 4k and can zoom three times optically and five times digitally. The microphones can also focus on the active speaker.
A second camera helps to monitor the room and to detail the image of the main camera control.

The Rally Bar is based on an Android platform and can be integrated as Microsoft Teams Room for Android and as a Zoom Rooms Appliance. Optionally, the Rally Bar can also be connected to a conference PC or ad hoc to an employee laptop via USB.

The simpler Rally Bar Mini model for small rooms and the RoomMate control device, which supplies larger rooms with a rally camera and remote rally mic pods, will appear later. All components are managed via Logitech Sync or another management platform. The rally bars can report the room occupancy and even indicate the number of people in the room, so that meeting rooms can be better utilized.
The prices for the rally bar start at 4. 000 Euro, for Rally Bar Mini at 3. 000 for Logitech RoomMate at 1. 000 Euro. These devices will be compatible with GoTo, Pexip and RingCentral.
