Acer’s interpretation of a compact gaming notebook is called Predator Triton 300 SE: In the approximately 1.7 kilograms and less than two centimeters flat 14 – Intel’s new inch notebook works 35 -Watt-CPU (Tiger Lake-H 17) with Nvidia’s newly introduced GeForce RTX 3060 together. The screen shows full HD resolution with up to 144 Hz – which in many 3D – Playing with medium detail settings does not appear unrealistic.

While the keyboard comes with colorful RGB lighting that is typical for gaming, the rest of the case is discreetly restrained: the bright full metal chassis with a subtle logo in a corner of the lid can also be taken into the conference room without receiving strange looks. With Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4, the interfaces common in current high-end notebooks are also included; the cooling system should be able to be switched as quiet as a whisper when working (with probably reduced performance). Acer wants the Predator Triton 300 SE in March at prices from 1400 Sell Euro.

Acer uses Intel’s Tiger Lake-H 35 also in new Nitro-5 models that will appear in April. You get it with 15, 6- (from 1000 Euro) or 17, 3 inch screen (from 1100 Euros), each with up to 35 Hz. Acer sees this as a mid-range notebook only the long-known GeForce GTX – 1500 – GPUs without ray tracing units.

RTX Gaming In the Nitro 5 series there will also be stronger equipment variants, the Nvidia’s new notebook graphics chips from the GeForce RTX – 3000 – use series – up to the mobile top model GeForce RTX 3080. All RTX – 3000 – Nitros are not available in combination with Intel’s eleventh Core-i generation, but only with AMD’s more powerful Ryzen 5000 – Processors up to the Ryzen 9 eight-core. For him plus GeForce RTX 3080 Acer calls at least 2200 euros, while a combination of Ryzen-5 six-core and GeForce RTX 3060 already from 1200 receives Euro.

The Ryzen-Nitros should appear in April at the earliest. If you want an RTX 3080 notebook from Acer beforehand, you have to go to the Intel-powered Predator Helios 300 (from 1500 Euro ), which will be released in March. Its 14, 6 inch screen shows full HD resolution with up to 240 Hz.
