Together with the credit card provider Barclaycard, Amazon now also enables its customers to purchase online in installments. Sums between at least 100 and a maximum of 3000 euros including shipping costs can be financed with it. The financing can be applied for via the payment process when ordering, explains Amazon.

Amazon is not involved in the financing itself, the customers close the credit agreement with Barclaycard alone. Depending on the sum, the buyer could agree different terms and installments, 3 to 48 installments are possible. According to the communication, the interest rate is 7 69 percent APR. Items that are not in stock, gift vouchers, pre-orders as well as digital products and content are excluded.

If you select the installment purchase as payment method, you will be redirected to an online form from Barclaycard. After examining the application and a positive response, the desired goods 24 are reserved for hours. During this time, verification must then be carried out using a web identification process. Once applied for, the granted financial framework can then also be used for subsequent online purchases without the need for further applications. Special payments and early redemptions are possible at any time; also returns of the financed products – the financing amount will be adjusted automatically.
