The newly introduced Corsair 4000 As a generous midi tower, D is intended to appeal to users for whom the 4000 D is not big enough. Again there are three completely different variants. In the double test we find out where the strengths and weaknesses of the airy 5000 D Airflow and the colorfully illuminated iCUE 5000 X RGB lie.

Corsair continues the all-round renewal of its Housing program. On the normal-sized midi tower 2020 D follows the larger and more versatile 4000 D. Especially with a view of the radiator seats, it is more flexible and offers three 360 – mm radiator places. Those who rely on air cooling can also benefit from some additional fan spaces. Two additional 2.5-inch drive slots should not go unmentioned. For this purpose, the larger models are also designed more elaborately – for example with a lid insert and covers behind the mainboard tray, but also with a practical PWM hub.

When differentiating into different Model variants Corsair follows the pattern that is already used by the 4000 D-series knows. There is also a basic model of the larger model in the form of the 5000 D. It shows itself with a continuous front panel and comes with two unlit 120 – equipped with mm fans. The 5000 D Airflow receives the same fan assembly, thanks to the perforated front it should cool more effectively. The iCUE 5000 X RGB is optically illuminated by glass inserts in the front and cover and by three 120 – mm fan (SP RGB ELITE) upgraded. An iCUE Lighting Node CORE is included as an A-RGB controller.

For our double test we can use a white iCUE 5000 X RGB and on a black 5000 Access D Airflow:

Corsair sorts the three priced Housing in two categories: 5000 D and 5000 D Airflow should each 154, 90 Euro. For the iCUE 5000 X RGB, however, become 189, 90 euros. Compared to the 4000 he -Series there is a significant surcharge: The RRP for 4000 D and 4000 D Airflow was at the launch 87, 90 Euro , the iCUE 4000 X RGB came for 119, 90 Euro on the market.

In the unpacked & touched video we take a first look at the two housings:

Both housing variants are supplied with assembly material in several small bags (typical for Corsair without power supply screws), instructions, a considerable amount of Velcro fasteners, an angled USB 3.0 adapter and a plastic insert. This insert can shorten the power supply cover.
