The sources of modern keyboards can be found in two machines – teletype and keypunch. Modern versions of the first of these devices were developed by American engineers Charles and Howard Krum in 1907 – 1910, although already in the years 70. In the nineteenth century, their ancestors were used to enter and simultaneously transmit data on stock exchange rates via telegraph cables. The functionality of the buttonhole machines, invented by Herman Hollerith, included writing programs and storing data on punched cards. ENIAC, the first general-purpose computer, used a punch machine as both an input and output device, while BINAC used an electromechanical typewriter to capture data on magnetic tapes. Until the end of the years 60. it is such solutions that have led the way in interaction with the computer, but the visual interface, popularized by the Datapoint computer terminal 3300, marginalized paper as a medium for storage and input data. Since then, the electromechanical keyboard has become the most popular way of communicating with a computer, being next to the mouse an essential component of any PC set.

Corsair K 100 RGB is the most advanced mechanical keyboard in the manufacturer’s offer, introducing a number of innovations and novelties to set a new level in the top segment.
