Last weekend we told you about a Bloomberg report in which the case was again addressed Cyberpunk 2077 , with new background on the complicated development process of title of CD Projekt RED . The investigation generated another wave of criticism directed at the Polish developer, who promptly responded through the words of its CEO.

The latest investigation released by Bloomberg bears the signature of that Jason Schreier who had already investigated the “crunch time” that the developers of CD Projekt RED had to face during the production of Cyberpunk 2077; development that, according to the statements of some former employees, would have started only in 2016, that is four years after the announcement of the game.

The response of the Warsaw company was not long in coming. This is Adam Badowski , boss of the software house that gave birth to The Witcher series and which today faces its greatest crisis. Badowski turns to Schreier himself, citing some points of the infamous investigation to deny (or confirm) some claims.

As far as the demo presented at E3 2018 , defined by Schreier as “completely false”, Badowski invites Bloomberg reporter comparing the demo movie with the final game: “What people reading your article may not know is that games are not made linearly and start to appear as the final product only a few months before launch “. CD Projekt’s CEO then pointed out that the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 “you see and play much better” than demo shown just over two years ago.

In Schreier’s report, reads that “most of the staff” of CD Projekt RED knew that the game would not be ready for a launch in 2020 . In this regard, Badowski replies: “Did you speak to 20 people, including some former employees, and of which only 1 is not anonymous. I would not say that the majority part of the over 500 staff people have openly said what you stand for ” .

The last point addressed by Adam Badowski concerns the alleged marginalization of some developers by their Polish colleagues : “Everyone here speaks English during the meetings, every email and communication is in English: all this is mandatory. However, it is quite normal for Germans to speak German, for Poles to speak Polish and for Spaniards to speak Spanish – there are 44 nationality in the studio – when there is no one else around. We work in a multicultural environment “.

In genuine back-and-forth, Jason Schreier thanked Badowski for the responses, reminding him that his team – or, at least, most of it – refused to answer his questions or provide him with an interview, taking the opportunity to invite the head of CD Projekt RED to a chat to resolve the outstanding issues.
