EA wants to take over Codemasters by beating Take-Two's € 800 million offer
Source: Geeknetic added 14th Dec 2020The famous video game development company EA based in the USA wants to acquire Codemasters, a company in charge of creating games like the DirT saga or holder of the official F1 license for the creation of video games of the franchise.
According to Sky News, EA has made an offer of an unknown amount, which would exceed the 800 million euros that Take-Two offered a few weeks ago to be made with Codemaster, some 740 million pounds sterling.
If it acquired Codemasters, EA would add driving sagas such as F1, Project Cars or Dirt to its catalog
If the negotiation is made public and the offer goes ahead, EA will acquire a developer highly specialized in car games, which will allow them to expand their offer in that sector , a sector where they already compete with franchises like Need For Speed and what e could expand with sagas such as Projects Cars, Grid and the aforementioned Dirt and F1.
At the moment none of the companies involved have made statements, in fact it seems that they have not yet There is a firm agreement, just as there was not when Take-Two began the negotiations, but it seems that Codemasters’ intention is still to find a buyer, so sooner rather than later, be it EA, Take-Two or a third party that has not yet appeared on the scene, will end up changing hands.
