Introduction
A big thank you to ECS for supplying the review sample.
Founded in 1987, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has grown into a leading PC OEM/ODM, known for manufacturing a wide range of products for both its own brand and other companies. ECS’s product portfolio includes mini-PCs, laptops, motherboards, All-in-One PCs, and various Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Even if you’ve never purchased an ECS-branded product, there’s a good chance you’ve used or owned a device they produced. ECS is also recognized for innovation in energy-efficient computing and its commitment to sustainability. With a strong global presence, the company continues to collaborate with major industry players to develop cutting-edge technology solutions.
Today, I take an in-depth look at the ECS LIVA Z7 Plus mini-PC. While not unique for its form factor, this latest offering uses Intel’s Core Ultra 5 125H, featuring 4 P-cores and 8 E-cores with an additional two lower power E-cores for a total of 14 cores and 18 threads. On the GPU front it uses Intel’s Arc Graphics with 7 cores. Since the unit is a barebones offering it does not come with system RAM, storage, or an operating system. However, that said, this review sample came equipped with 2x 8 GB (16 GB total) of DDR5 5600 MHz memory and a 256 GB SSD preloaded with Windows 11 Pro in order to test its performance.
