Slovenian EK Water Blocks, one of the top liquid cooling solutions, has released a new, unusual processor block. The new EK-QuantumX Delta TEC has been designed in collaboration with Intel.

As those already familiar with the name TEC can guess, this is a Termoelectric Cooler, a cooler based on a thermoelectric effect. The QuantumX Delta TEC differs from normal processor blocks already in its appearance, as there is a large “fin” in the middle of the block. Inside the fin, you will find the necessary control electronics for a peltier element embedded in the block, which is intended to make liquid cooling even more efficient. In fact, the actual fluid circulation in the QuantumX Delta cools the Peltier element, not the processor itself.

One of the biggest problems with Peltier cooling has traditionally been condensing moisture. At QuantumX Delta, efforts have been made to effectively solve this problem by effectively isolating the cold side from the rest of the environment and utilizing Intel’s Cryo Cooling technology. The Cryo Cooling technology, which is responsible for controlling the Peltier element, is built on hardware, software and firmware components. It constantly monitors the ambient temperature of the unit and regulates the operation of the element accordingly to minimize the risk of condensation.

EK-QuantumX Delta TEC is now pre-orderable and is priced in EKWB’s own online store 349, 90 in euros. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early December, and the units will naturally also go on sale in the company’s normal distribution network.
