Electric cars in Europe: number of newly registered plug-in hybrids tripled

146. 000 Plug-in hybrids (PHEV) were newly registered in the five largest Western European car markets plus five other European countries in the third quarter of this year. That means an increase of 279 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The management consultancy Strategy & analyzed this in a study that has now been published. Strategy & belongs to the international auditing company PwC.

179. 000 purely electrically powered cars (BEV) were sold in the five largest Western European car markets Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Great Britain as well as in Sold in Austria, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and Sweden, that is a plus of 121 percent.
