Electricity prices: Energy association BDEW calls for relief
Source: Heise.de added 17th Oct 2020The Federal Association of Energy and Water Management (BDEW) calls for a noticeable and reliable reduction in electricity prices. General Manager Kerstin Andreae told the German Press Agency: “It is good that the federal government is ensuring with its economic stimulus program that the EEG surcharge does not go through the roof next year.” The slight reduction in surcharges by 0 25 cents in the next year and by 0.5 cents a year 2022 should only be the first step. “The EEG surcharge should be frozen at a level of a maximum of 5 cents by law, the electricity tax should be reduced to the minimum permitted under European law.”
