The Lottery degli Scontrini did not start in January as expected, but was postponed due to the few merchants who had managed to adjust the cash register. The deadline for compliance was therefore moved to 1 April 2021 , so as to allow retailers time to adjust their recorder or replace it. A nuisance for the citizens, who will have to wait to take part in the much-announced Lottery, but perhaps some shopkeepers will be able to breathe a sigh of relief, since they will have more time to access the bonus of 250 euro (maximum ) for replacement of the terminal.
Who is entitled to the bonus from 250 euro for the cash register?
On paper, from 1 January 2021 all merchants should have equipped themselves with an electronic cash register capable of transmitting the fees to the Revenue Agency daily. The lockdowns that have affected Italy and forced many businesses to keep closed have inevitably weighed on the adjustment process and slowed down the replacement, so much so that the government found itself moving for the umpteenth time the deadline for adjustment, which is now indicated for 1 April 2021 .
As expected, the replacement is not free but has a cost and to meet the needs of the exhibitors, the Government has guaranteed everyone the possibility of obtaining a bonus equivalent to 50% of the expenditure made for the replacement of the term . Bonus which, as specified, cannot exceed 250 EUR. Taking the example of a cash register with a cost of 400 euro, the merchant will be able to obtain 200 euro, while if the device should cost it 700, the maximum obtainable will remain of 250 euro.
How will the cash register bonus be paid?
The bonus to replace an old cash register with a telematic model will be given in the form of a tax credit on the first periodic communication of VAT. Practically, the merchants will download a part of the expenditure made, half to be precise, always within the maximum limit of 250 EUR.
But how much does an electronic cash register cost? Obviously it depends on the model, but on average the expenditure is between 300 and 700 euro or more for the most advanced models, which include additional functions.
We are sure that merchants are not happy to have to invest more money to comply with the legislation, but looking on the positive side, it must be said that a new cash register can represent a first step towards a digitalization path that will allow companies, even small ones, to simplify procedures and optimize workflows, as we have specified here.
