Tesla’s Gigafactory in Grünheide, Brandenburg, is still under construction, but numerous new jobs are to be created there in the coming year. When it comes to payment, Tesla should follow the collective bargaining agreement of the metal and electrical industry, said Jochem Freyer, head of the Frankfurt (Oder) employment agency, in a newspaper interview.

“Tesla pays significantly better than is customary in the area and will be based on the collective wage agreement of the metal and electrical industry,” Freyer told Handelsblatt. He was particularly pleased that the Americans also gave the unemployed and people without suitable training a chance to work in Grünheide. The starting salary is 2700 gross euros per month, which is also very high for this region. With relevant vocational training 3500 gross euros and more should be possible.
