In November, Epic Games began sending Fortnite players a poll that suggested plans to implement a monthly subscription to the game. It doesn’t take long for an official confirmation. The creators announced that the popular battle royale will see a special subscription at the beginning of next month, including Battle passes (so-called season passes) and monthly account top-ups with a specified amount of V-bucks (virtual in-game currency). Players who decide to pay the subscription will also receive access to unique items available for the exclusive use of members of the so-called Fortnite teams. Fortnite is still one of the most popular online games, but the dispute between Epic Games and Apple has had an impact on the financial results, and with the introduction of an optional subscription, the company may gain an additional source of income.
